Privacy policy
In effect from 26 October 2026.
We make games, not profiles. We collect what we need to keep the launcher and our games working, and play data under a random id that tells us how the games run and how they are played, so we can fix and balance them. We never sell data, show adverts or use third-party trackers, and you can switch the play data off at any time.
Who is responsible
The controller of your personal data is David Deguara, trading as Dave Cooks Games, based in Malta. For anything about your data, write to privacy@davecooksgames.com.

This website
The website sets no cookies and runs no analytics or advertising scripts. Like every website, our hosting records each request (the page, the time, your IP address and your browser's name) in its logs, which we use only to keep the site running and safe. These logs are deleted after 30 days.
The launcher
The launcher asks our download service (api.davecooksgames.com) which games and updates exist and downloads them. Those requests are logged in the same way as website requests and deleted after 30 days. The launcher checks your computer's hardware (graphics card, memory, processor) to pick good graphics settings; that stays on your computer unless usage data is on (below).
Playing online
When you join a game server, the server needs your IP address to talk to your computer, and shows the name you gave your goblin to the other players. Chat messages are passed to the other players and are not stored. The game servers keep short technical logs (connections, errors) on the server itself, which may include IP addresses; they are not copied anywhere else and are cleared when the server is updated.
Usage and gameplay data
The launcher and our games record what happens while you use them, for example:
- installs, updates, game launches, how long you play and whether the game crashed or lost its connection;
- how well the game runs: frame rate, loading times, network delay, graphics settings and your hardware model;
- what happens in your matches: where your goblin went, what you picked up, fights, how you were eliminated, your place, and which features you used;
- which settings you change and which menus you use;
- your computer's region setting (a country code) and operating system.
These records carry a random id made by the launcher when it is installed, plus ids for each game session and match. They do not contain your name, your goblin's name, your chat messages, your IP address, your email or anything from outside our launcher and games. The data is uploaded by the launcher when a game ends.
We use it only to find and fix problems, balance and improve our games, and understand which features players enjoy, mostly as totals and averages. We rely on our legitimate interest in running and improving the games; because the records are pseudonymous and we never use them to target you, we consider your interests are not overridden. You can object at any time by switching off "Share anonymous usage data" in the launcher's settings (and the matching setting in each game). From then on nothing more is recorded or sent.
Crash logs. If you switch on "Include crash logs", the launcher also sends the last lines of the game's log after a crash, with user names removed from file paths. This is off unless you turn it on, and you can turn it off again at any time.
Where your data goes
Everything is stored with Google Cloud in the European Union (the Netherlands), which acts as our data processor under its data processing terms. Google may handle some support or security operations from outside the EU, under the European Commission's standard contractual clauses and the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. We share your data with no one else, and we never sell it.
How long we keep it
Request logs: 30 days. Usage and gameplay records: 25 months, after which they are deleted automatically. Totals that can no longer be linked to anyone (for example "players per day") may be kept longer.
Your rights
You have the right to see the data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to its use, to receive a copy, and to withdraw consent you gave (without affecting what happened before). Write to privacy@davecooksgames.com. Because usage data is not linked to your name, include your analytics id, which the launcher shows in its settings, so we can find your records. We answer within one month.
If you think we handle your data wrongly, you can complain to the Information and Data Protection Commissioner in Malta (idpc.org.mt) or the authority where you live.
Children
Our games are not meant for children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has used our launcher, write to us and we will delete their records.
Changes
If we change what we collect, we will update this page and its date first; important changes will also be shown in the launcher.
